One of the biggest sources of anxiety for me when I travel for any amount of time is packing the right art supplies. Reducing the tools of my trade (or limiting myself to one medium) stresses me out way more than it should. For my month’s stay in LA, I’ve reduced it to gouache and watercolors, two artist books (Bellows and Diebenkorn), an assortment of small brushes, a mini palette, a few paper blocks, and a sketchbook. Hope I got it right, and I’ll catch you on the flip side.
